YORK REGION, January 30, 2024 – Cedar Centre is thrilled to announce its recent accreditation by Imagine Canada, a prestigious milestone that highlights the organization’s unwavering dedication to transparency, accountability, and excellence in their work in the Child & Youth Mental Health, Adult Mental Health and Addictions, Violence Against Women, and Anti-Human Trafficking sectors.
The Standards is a recognized nonprofit accreditation created to provide best practices that help organizations improve governance and operations in crucial areas: board governance, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising, human resources, and volunteer involvement. Cedar Centre’s successful accreditation signifies its commitment to upholding the highest standards of operational effectiveness and integrity.
“We are immensely proud to have received accreditation from Imagine Canada,” said Alison Peck, Executive Director of Cedar Centre. “It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, and supporters who make our mission possible. We are excited to be part of a distinguished group of organizations dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of operation through Imagine Canada’s Standards program.”
This achievement comes at an exciting time for Cedar Centre as it continues to expand its impact and reach within the community with the development of York Region’s first Child & Youth Advocacy Centre. This is a joint initiative with York Region Children’s Aid Society, York Regional Police, Jewish Family and Child Service, and Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services. Their vision is to create a place where criminal justice, child protection/well-being, and mental health services are fully integrated and committed to ensuring that their processes do not cause further trauma.
